Klaus is principal and creative director of Juicy Temples — a design firm he founded in 1999 , which specializes in image and interactive design for arts and entertainment brands. With a staff of 7, the studio currently employs 5 incredibly-talented and well-awarded designers who thrive on the collaborative atmosphere, continued national recognition in the industry, and a host of creative-minded clients that just keep on getting better...
Before opening Juicy Temples, Klaus served as an art director and designer for various advertising agencies and design studios, working with clients as diverse as the United Way and the National Watermelon Promotion Board, as different as Sunterra Resorts and the House of Blues. Despite the obvious differences in the clients he’s served, Klaus approaches every project as a true problem solver, searching for a way to distinguish his clients from their competitors, to communicate clearly and to make the target audience sit up and take notice. One result of his open-minded approach is that clients now come to Klaus seeking creative wisdom, respecting his marketing point of view as much as his design expertise.
Another result of Klaus’ dynamic approach to advertising and design is a plethora of awards. He was named Art Director of the Year at the 2003 Orlando Advertising Federation ADDY Awards, and over the years, he has hauled in a boatload of local, district and national ADDYs, as well as awards from the Creative Club of Orlando and the AIGA. His work, and the work of his design-team, has also been featured in such esteemed publications as Communication Arts, STEP Inside Design, and Print magazine.
More than anything, Klaus strives to keep the environment at the studio collaborative, and keep the creatives fresh and inspired. That seems to be getting easier to do, as the studio’s focus on arts and entertainment manifests itself in relationships with clients such as Haxan Films, Chelsea Pictures, Campfire, Focus Features, Walt Disney World, the Florida Film Festival, and Harcourt Publishers.
He is also an accomplished musician and songwriter (having penned the only song heard in “the Blair Witch Project”), loves riding motorcycles and rarely sleeps more than four hours a night. He currently resides in Orlando with his wife, Lisa, and their 6-month old daughter, Finley.
